Privacy Policy

Verlita B.V. is the controller of personal data for Shared Membership. Shared Membership is the name of this website and service. Verlita B.V. is a Dutch private limited company with its statutory seat in Rotterdam.

When you use Shared Membership, we process:

• The email address you enter at checkout, and any new email address you give so the verification code and access email go there.
• The email address and messages you send when you contact us by email.
• Order details, including the plan, duration, amount, currency, and payment status.
• A country code taken from the hosting geolocation header at checkout, when that header is available. We do not store the raw IP address for this purpose.
• The necessary cookies described on the cookie page: your language, this cookie notice, and the checkout brand.

We use this data to take your order, provide access, verify your email, and send service messages about that order. The legal basis is the contract with you.

We keep orders and invoices to meet Dutch bookkeeping duties. The legal basis is a legal obligation.

We use data to keep the site secure and to handle fraud or abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the service and our customers.

We use your email address to complete the purchase and to send messages about your order, including the verification code. For a one-time purchase, that email also includes your personal sharing code. We do not send separate advertising emails. An email address is required to complete the purchase.

Stripe processes the payment. Card details stay with Stripe and are not stored in our application database.

Amazon SES sends the service emails.

The hosting provider and the database provider store the website and the order records so the service can run.

We do not sell personal data. Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area. When they do, they use the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses.

We keep orders and invoices for at least 7 years, for Dutch bookkeeping.

We keep access details for the paid period and for a limited time afterwards, so we can answer questions about that order.

We keep messages you send us. Messages about an order are kept with that order for at least 7 years.

You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of your data to take elsewhere. You can object to processing that is based on legitimate interests.

Necessary cookies are described on the cookie page. Optional analytics and marketing cookies are not used unless we ask first. A marketing adapter runs only when marketing consent has been given.
